Marketing and Gateways

The Cheshire’s Year of Gardens ’08 marketing strategy has been shaped around the results of comprehensive visitor profile research, recently commissioned by VCC. The research objectives were to identify the profile of current visitors to Cheshire’s gardens and identify opportunities to increase the frequency of garden visits; gauge the appeal of the events programme; test initial promotional ideas and designs and identify opportunities to encourage visitors who do not currently visit Cheshire gardens.

For the Gateways strand of Cheshire's Year of Gardens '08 we are working with appropriate partners to create gateway features - striking garden displays, garden related art or community environmental projects at major entry points such as main railway stations (Chester, Warrington Bank Quay, Macclesfield & Crewe), airports (Liverpool and Manchester) trunk road boundaries and canal junctions. Gateway attractions will be used to create awareness of the Year and contribute to an enhanced image of the county and the region.

We are currently producing a number of key pieces of print. The 2008 Gardens of Distinction leaflet is out now. To order your copy please email cyog@visitchesterandcheshire.co.uk
