Do you know your customers in depth? - new customer profiling tool now available

We have joined up with six other tourism boards in the UK to purchase a new powerful customer profiling product called "Micromarketer", created by a database and research specialist Experian.  This product usually costs c £40,000 but we have managed to reduce the cost significantly by working in partnership with other tourism boards including Cumbria Tourism.

The product works by analysing the postcodes of your customers.  MOSIAC profiling data is cross referenced with other data sources to create a fullpicture of who your customers actually are - over 60 types.  You will learn most of them including:

  • Where they are from
  • Household Income
  • Age/sex
  • Lifestyle and holiday habits
  • Occupation
  • What they read or listen to
  • What car they drive

    Once you know this information you can begin to develop more effective marketing plans and also look to see how you might develop your products and services in the near future.  This is a tool we will be using to inform our own destination campaigns but we feel it will be of great use to accomodation providers, attractions, event organisers, retailers bars and restaurants also.
