Welcoming Visitors to Chester

Welcome Envoys is a new programme launched this month concentrating on Chester Railway Station, providing mobile information staff in the city.

Funded through 'Future Jobs Fund' four Welcome Envoys are working with Visit Chester & Cheshire until the end of the year.

Marc, Pat, Liam and Laura will welcome visitors arriving at Chester Railway Station as well as being able to help visitors around the city centre. The aim of the project is to take the welcome agenda to the consumer and being able to answer general visitor enquiries about what to see and do.

The envoys will carry maps and guides with them and so will be able to promote key events and festivals too. The team will be able to undertake consumer surveys finding out  about the visitor experience to Chester and this will allow us to shape future agendas.

The Welcome Envoys will be available between 10am and 4pm Monday to Sunday during the next few months and winter hours will be reviewed to allow them to get involved in helping with late night shopping and Christmas events.
