Visitor Economy Framework for Cheshire and Warrington
This is the online consultation for the Visitor Economy Framework for Cheshire & Warrington, designed to provide strategic direction of travel for the visitor economy in the sub-region to 2020. It is for everyone who has a responsibility or interest in developing and managing the visitor economy. That includes visitor attractions, businesses providing visitor accommodation, retailers, places to eat and drink, transport providers and local authority departments including economic development, planning and highways. It also includes regional and sub-regional public sector agencies involved in the economy and in tourism. It involves town centre management, festival and event organisers and the many other groups, associations and partnerships that contribute to creating and managing our destinations and serving our visitors.
Visit Chester and Cheshire commissioned L&R Consulting to help develop the Framework. The process is one of engagement. L&R has consulted with over 40 stakeholders and facilitated three workshops to understand the views, priorities and issues from a wide range of interests and perspectives.
This online consultation is the third and final stage of that process. It brings together, distils and structures the views and ideas that have emerged to create a framework for action.
We would value feedback on this draft. To help structure that process, we have divided the text into sections and asked for feedback on particular priorities and approaches.
An action plan for the next three years to support the Framework is underway. This will move the Framework into delivery. So if you have any views on lead actions, do please include these in your response.
To ensure your views are included in producing the final version, please return your comments online by 5pm, Tuesday 15th June.
The Framework and Action Plan will be completed by end June. The Framework will be launched during the summer 2010 and copies of the final version available online.
