Open Weekend 2010

An annual nationwide celebration counting down to the Olympic and Paralympics Games will take place between the 23rd and 25th July.

‘Open Weekend 2010’ will take place as we start the countdown to two years to go to the Olympic and Paralympics Games.

It will feature hundreds of sporting, arts and culture events right across the UK, and Cheshire is no exception.  Details of the events being held are available by clicking here.

This year, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games are asking organisations to create a challenge for their audience - to try something new or take an existing skill to a new level.  Our challenge to our members is to find a way to link into Open Weekend; maybe an event you are already hosting could have a link to sports or the five rings?  Could a menu make a connection to the countries involved in the Olympics or perhaps attractions could do a treasure hunt linked to the countries mascots.  There are many opportunities.  If you decide to do something then please let us know and we hopefully can get you some press coverage on it.
