Exhibition Update

Confex 2011 is taking place from 1st March – 3rd March 2011 and is heavily subsidised by Us.  Please get in touch to register interest for this event.

Marketing

The Conference Directory has now been signed off and is at the printers as we speak! We will be sure to send you the web link to download a copy from our website www.meetinchesterandcheshire.com as soon as it arrives! 

We have a third page advertisement in the Meetings & Incentive Travel Publication this month with a stepped up presence in key publications such as M&IT, C&IT, Conference News, ITCM and Square Meal and online from September onwards.

PR

There have been 5 key press releases this month dedicated to business tourism which has achieved a reach of almost 3million people in June alone within the MICE media!

Fiona is hosting a journalist from the publication 'Incentive and Motivation.'  The journalist will be travelling first class with Virgin trains to Crewe and will visit a handful of venues in the destination for inspiration on a stand out piece of coverage on how Visit Chester & Cheshire work in partnership with members to secure business tourism into the destination.

FAM Trips

We're working closely with the RHS Show Tatton Park to showcase the new catering and hospitality facilities and explore the future potential for you to hold an event or seminar at the Show with bespoke facilities.

We're supporting this initiative by inviting key corporate buyers to breakfast on Friday 23rd July so that they can experience the high standard of hospitality the show can offer and consider potential future requirements that the RHS can collate going forwards.

- We have recruited 7 agents so far for our summer Agent FAM Trip, due to be held from 29th July – 1st August 2010.  Please get in touch if you would like to represent your venue on this FAM trip – there are limited spaces for members to attend networking sessions with the group.  Please contact Fiona to register your interest.

Pro-Active Sales Activity

We have secured the European Embryo Transfer Association 2 day Scientific Meeting on 9th and 10th September 2011 for 150 delegates at the Queen Hotel, Chester. The delegates will also experience a medieval banquet at Peckforton Castle and a Safari BBQ at Chester Zoo during their stay.  Visit Chester & Cheshire will be offering an accommodation booking service for this event too.  The Economic Benefit to the destination is £73,000.

We have also confirmed the Annual Sales Conference and Awards Ceremony for JCB Finance Ltd for 85 delegates into Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa on Friday 8th October 2010. This event will bring £78,030 in delegate economic benefit to the destination and was secured as a result of our targeted corporate campaign last month.

In addition we have secured the VIVP Association into the Chester Grosvenor & Spa for a social weekend on 3rd and 4th December 2010 with a delegate economic benefit of £19,362.
