The Department for Business –  is here to help ensure business success in an increasingly competitive world.  BERR is completely focused on getting UK business through the global economic downturn and emerging stronger on the other side.  Their role is to boost productivity and keep the UK competitive and an attractive place to do business, especially in challenging economic times, as well as to help companies succeed overseas and to bring foreign investment to the UK.

What's new highlights a selection of the publications added to the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) Reports and Publications website in the last few weeks, and is updated on a regular basis. There are over 4,500 publications available through this website.

The Action for Business programme focuses on helping UK small businesses through the current economic downturn, a number of actions have already been achieved, however with more intelligence from businesses like yourselves we can lobby to secure such support is aimed at the visitor economy.

Funded by the department of culture media and support, with a mission “to build the value of tourism to Britain and in England” They have currently put together a section on their website offering advice and guidance to businesses within the Visitor Economy.  The section gives information on starting up a business and what markets are right for you, through to research and intelligence for international markets and domestic tourism.
