De Vere Carden Park

Last year’s winners of the Business Tourism Award at the Visit Chester & Cheshire Annual Awards, De Vere Carden Park, are already preparing for their opportunity to shine at the 2008 Annual Awards at Chester Racecourse on the 6th June.
Joanne Tipper & Stuart Clare from Carden Park who compiled the winning nomination said “it’s a real commitment to complete the nomination form and find the evidence to support your form, but each year it amazes us at just how much we have achieved over the past year, and also brings new issues that perhaps we aren’t currently involved with to light”.
Carden Park’s success doesn’t stop there though, they went on to win two awards at the Cheshire Awards for Tourism Skills in November and secured fourth place in the Telegraph Travel Awards 2007 for Favourite UK Hotel.
So why take the time to compete in these awards?
“What makes it all worthwhile is the recognition we receive – locally and on a wider scale, and the press opportunities it creates is an obvious bonus. The fact that we are identified as an award winner helps to attract customers to Carden Park, rather than any of the other hotels in the area. More personally, it gives the whole hotel a real feel good factor as a reward for all our hard work.”
So what advice would Carden Park give to other potential nominees?
“Be honest and take time to fill out the form. If you commit a little time each day it’s surprising how easy it can be. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t win – use your time to find out why and look at how you can improve for the next year.”
