Cluster Development

In addition to 1:1 business advice, Nicola and Tracey manage a series of thematic clusters, with the aim of bring together tourism products under a series of themes, enabling businesses to network, gain support in targeting new/niche tourism markets, and engage in joint marketing activity, to ultimately help build the brand of Cheshire. The main clusters we are working on are;

- Equine Tourism
- Luxury and spa
- Sandstone Trail walking breaks
- Peak District walking breaks

We hope to start working on a Weaver Valley waterways cluster and a Natural tourism cluster in late 2007.

Please see below update on activity;
- Equine Cluster

We are working with equine tour operator Equestrian Escapes to help us develop equine holiday packages, and Sarah from Equestrian Escapes will be in touch with businesses currently engaged in the cluster to discuss opportunities.

We are continuing to develop the proposed Delamere Loop horseriding route with Cheshire County Council and will notification towards the end of the year if the new bridleways needed to complete the loop have been approved

We have completed improvements to the Bishop Bennet way horseriding route including developing new signage

Working with the forestry commission we have almost completed two circular routes through Delamere forest – now need to think of some names for them – ideas please!!
- Luxury and Spa

We are holding a cluster meeting in September for any luxury and spa businesses, both small and large. Date to be confirmed.
